1990 Rolex Ref. 16570 “Chicchi di Mais” Explorer II. This particular example is personal watch of mine and is the nicest example I’ve come across having hunted these for years.
In addition to having an incredible dial and case this piece comes part of a complete set. Originally retailed in Japan in 1992 this set also includes correct Japanese “Your Rolex Oyster” booklet.
What makes these so unique is that these “Chicchi di Mais” dials were only found from 1990-1993 and to find one this vibrant, with clean plots, is extremely hard. I’d go so far as to say this might be the nicest example in the world.
Original tritium hands aged lighter which is correct.
