Tudor Ref. 7016/0 M.N. 74 MilSub
Tudor Ref. 7016/0 M.N. 74 Tudor MilSub. While the decommission paperwork has since been lost since this watch was last sold at Analog:Shift, we are fortune to know the exact story behind this piece. Originally issued to a crewman of the French submarine SM. Foudroyant (likely a clearance diver), this example features the wider style engraving which generally ties them to bases in the North of France (in this case Cherbourg).
This is a piece that definitely saw some hard use, given the multiple service engravings found on the inside of the caseback, adding to the allure of this watch. While it might be doom and gloom in the civilian world, this dial was relumed (likely while in service) to make the watch more usable – have to remember these were tools that people depended their life on.
Nobody wants a military watch that missed the war. If you’ve been after a Milsub, at an approachable price point, this killer MN is one you won’t want to miss.
